Ampion Consumer Protection Policies
Please read and understand this document before selling Ampion products to any subscribers. Ampion places a high value on consumer protection, and expects any channel partner representative (“agent”) acting on Ampion’s behalf to conduct sales in an ethical manner. This document provides a summary of specific expectations related to the enrollment process.
All agents are required to use the Ampion online agent functionality (“Agent Site”) to initiate enrollments, and all subscribers will use the Ampion online enrollment functionality (“Enrollment Site” and other Ampion-hosted pages hosted on “ampion.net”) to complete such enrollments.
For the purpose of this document, “secure enrollment data” refers to:
- Portal password creation
- Agreement signature
- Payment method entry, including credit cards, ACH cards, or Plaid
- Account linking
Enrollment Policies
Please review each of these items to ensure that you understand the policy.
- I will not represent myself to subscribers as a utility employee.
- I will use the Agent Site to initiate enrollment invitations to subscribers.
- I will enter email addresses and phone numbers that are owned by subscribers, not generic data or data owned by me (such as my own email address or phone number).
- I will not create email addresses or generate VOIP phone numbers on behalf of subscribers.
- I understand that subscribers must enter secure enrollment data themselves, using their own (subscriber’s) device (such as laptop or mobile phone).
- I will not enter secure enrollment data on behalf of subscribers and I will not physically take subscriber devices, such as subscribers’ mobile phones, and proceed through the enrollment process on behalf of subscribers.
- I will not create or otherwise dictate subscriber passwords, particularly for access to the Ampion dashboard (only the subscriber should know their own password).
- I will not complete the post-enrollment Ampion Verification Process (“AVP”) on behalf of subscribers, nor coach/dictate verification responses to the subscriber, nor answer verification phone calls on behalf of the subscriber.
- When uploading documentation (e.g., for LMI evidence), I will only provide forms of documentation approved by Ampion, and only documentation that belongs to the subscriber being enrolled.
- I will not save sensitive subscriber data such as utility account information on my device.
