Ampion is a leading national provider of Community Solar to businesses and residents, allowing them to support clean energy and save money on electricity costs. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Business Development Representative to join our growing sales team and help us expand into new markets and customer segments. This is an entry-level, early-career role designed for individuals eager to break into sales, develop key business skills, and make an impact. The role requires research skills, creativity in prospecting, high-volume outreach, and a willingness to generate new business through cold calling, email outreach, and social selling. You will be responsible for identifying and qualifying potential prospects and developing sales opportunities for our sales team to close.
By joining our Direct Sales team, you’ll be surrounded by energy and sales experts, have the support of our industry-leading software, and have access to our in-depth lead and market data, sales best practices, playbooks, and collateral to help you grow and thrive in this role. You will work closely with the sales team to create and execute outreach campaigns targeting key customer segments and markets. In this role, you’ll develop essential sales skills and gain valuable energy industry knowledge while driving Ampion’s growth and advancing your own career.
Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities by conducting high-volume outreach through cold calls, emails, and social networking.
- Contact and qualify leads, ensuring they are a good fit for our community solar solutions.
- Research and identify high-potential prospects within key verticals and markets
- Set up and schedule sales meetings for sales executives and work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition from prospecting to closing.
- Develop and continuously improve sales outreach campaign messaging
- Achieve sales KPIs on a daily and weekly basis through consistent outreach
- Achieve sales targets on a quarterly, and yearly basis
- Maintain detailed records of leads, outreach efforts, and sales progress in a CRM system.
- Learn and apply best practices for sales prospecting and pipeline development.
Qualifications
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to stay motivated in a high-energy environment.
- An excellent communicator who is confident and articulate in engaging with potential customers.
- Comfortable with high-volume prospecting and outreach through various channels.
- A knack for research and intelligence
- Interested in developing a career in sales, with a willingness to learn and improve.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to track multiple conversations and follow through effectively.
- Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Passionate about clean energy and excited to help businesses save on their electricity costs.
