Director - Field Sales

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of Director - Field Sales. You will have a significant and immediate impact by determining, owning and delivering key KPIs for the Field Sales organization. You will manage and grow a field sales capability with envisioned scope to include Field Sales teams in up to 6-8 markets, each with teams of 8-10 sales reps. This role reports to the SVP Subscriber Acquisition and will work from your home, with moderate travel expected.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement customer acquisition strategy and tactics for Ampion’s Field Sales (“internal d2d”) organization
- Achieve KPI’s - including assigned kWh sales goals and Cost to acquire goals - determined by Ampion management team
- Manage / oversee the Ampion Field Sales Team organization; including agent recruitment and retention, incentive and compensation planning & design and all aspects of day to day management and leadership of the Field Team - - managers, sales reps., recruiting and support.
- Assess, present solutions, and drive Field Sales market expansion; including establishing the guidelines/framework for expansion, financial model & KPIs, and internal championing to determine agreed expansion beyond the existing Bangor Hydro market.
Education, Skill, Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of managing and building residential / consumer D2D and direct selling teams
- Industry experience required; Solar and/or retail energy supply preferred; various services industries selling to consumers via face-to face interactions also desirable; including lawn, pest control, cable/tv/wi-fi, etc.
- Deep understanding of, and experience selling into low income communities (LMI) a plus
- A proven, documented track record
- Comfortable with pace and ambiguity of an early-stage startup; eager to lend a hand cross-functionally as required
