Vice President of Mass Markets

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the new, highly visible position of VP of Mass Markets. You will have a significant and immediate impact by designing our strategy for subscribing and marketing to customers. As a member of Ampion’s management team, you’ll have a front-row seat as we imagine and build a world-class business and power the renewable energy market to new heights. This role reports to the COO and is based in Boston, Massachusetts, with frequent travel expected.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Join Ampion’s leadership team, supporting our growth and maturation with insightful contributions to our strategy evolution, operational improvement, and culture development.
  • Provide executive-level leadership directly to your team and across the organization, setting an example for how Ampion conducts itself professionally.
  • Assume complete responsibility for subscriber acquisition, a critical function of the business that is experiencing 100%+ growth annually. This includes developing a compelling strategy for scaled customer acquisition while designing and managing a team tailored to that strategy for results.
  • Own Ampion’s consumer marketing function, building a team and strategy capable of acquiring customers flexibly and affordably.
  • Contribute to the tech roadmap as it relates to function.
  • Attend community events, such as fairs or other tabling events, to promote energy offerings.
  • Build, structure, and manage strong and durable relationships with a variety of partners across the energy ecosystem including organizations of substantial scale and sophistication.
  • Install a culture and mechanisms for accountability and transparency that allow full visibility into the progress of the business and the team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Charismatic leadership abilities with an understanding of how to motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Deep personal understanding of the function that enables an immediate impact, including managing a multi-channel sales organization

Customer Acquisition Associate

We’re looking for someone passionate about community solar and distributed energy who will contact and develop relationships with potential customers. As part of the Acquisition Team, you’ll generate warm subscriber leads for our clients and conduct outreach campaigns to enroll residents, businesses, and municipalities into shared renewable energy programs. If you are experienced in sales, have strong communication skills, and are familiar with the renewable energy industry, we encourage you to apply.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate and qualify leads from multiple sources.
  • Provide research support, including the provision of competitive intelligence, market sizing, and local events of value to our efforts.
  • Guide customers through the sales process by effectively conveying Ampion’s value proposition.
  • Contact potential customers through cold calls and emails.
  • Develop customer channels to develop ongoing leads, including coordination with local community organizations.
  • Attend community events, such as fairs or other tabling events, to promote energy offerings.
  • Report all sales activities in a CRM platform and produce sales reports.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4-year college degree from an accredited institution (or degree-in-progress) and 3+ years of B2C sales experience.
  • Proven success in a sales role, preferably relationship-based, in a service industry.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for multiple days across the Northeast.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with prospective customers.
  • Experience with mass marketing strategies, both digital and in-person.
  • Exceptional communication skills, for audiences both familiar and unfamiliar with energy programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in the energy and community solar industry.
  • Ability to work with multiple IT and CRM platforms.
